Zoom Whiskey
Project Overview
Zoom Whiskey is an adult beverage carefully crafted by it’s maker and inspired by their beloved dog, Zoom. It is meant to translate a sense of warmth not only through the drink itself, but through it’s personality. You will never be without your “man’s best friend” when you are with Zoom Whiskey.
The Problem
ZW is a brand that started off as purely conceptual with no visuals to back the product. As the project grew into more than an idea, it became necessary to create strong visuals that could support the solid product.
Our Goal
Our goal was to give Zoom Whiskey as much of a personality through it’s visual brand identity — color, typography, and imagery — as it already had through it’s initial idea.
Research & Initial Design Ideation
We started by creating a user persona to better understand our target demographic.
Once we had a better understanding of who we were designing for, it was time to start exploring our brand identity through mood-boards.
With our mood-board came a clear idea of our preferred visual direction: warm and approachable, with a dash of gruffness. Just the kind of personality you might see in that middle aged dog down the block… and with that came more visual exploration through typography and colors!
Once we had a solid sense for how our product will look, it was time to map out our main E-commerce task flow.
The Results
With all of our building blocks in place, Zoom Whiskey's visual identity began to take shape!
While designing, we made sure that the copy used communicated that “man’s best friend” vibe that we were going for. We also prioritized using photography that would appeal to our target demographic and ensured that our colors and form styling were appropriately accessible.
The interface that took shape had the perfect mix of warmth, approachability, and gruffness that we were going for.
